There is nothing quite like the joy of a fresh flower delivery or picking up a hand-tied wrap from our Silver Spring storefront to brighten up your week. But as the days pass and your blooms reach the end of their peak vase life, you don't have to simply toss them into the compost bin.
With a little bit of creativity, you can extend the magic of your favorite petals long after they’ve left the water. Here are three simple, beautiful ways to upcycle your flowers at home:
1. Craft Custom Pressed-Flower Botanical Art
Pressing your flowers is the ultimate way to preserve a memory—whether it's a special anniversary bouquet or just a beautiful weekend treat. Take your blooms just as they begin to turn, lay them flat between sheets of parchment paper, and place them inside a heavy book for 2–3 weeks. Once fully dried and flattened, arrange them inside a double-glass floating frame for a gorgeous, minimalist piece of botanical wall art.2. Brew a Batch of Herbal & Floral Bath Salts
