We are officially in the "eye of the storm." If you walked into our shop right now, you’d see a sea of buckets, a mountain of ribbons, and a team sustained almost entirely by caffeine and pure floral adrenaline.
Last week we talked about the prep, but now we are in the thick of execution. To give you an idea of the scale, here is what "Game Week" actually looks like for a retail florist:
The Science of the "Cold Chain"
Thousands of roses arrive as "dry" stems. Every single one must be processed by hand—stripping thorns, removing guard petals, and recutting stems at a 45-degree angle to maximize water intake. They then hit a "Quick Dip" hydration treatment before resting in a temperature-controlled cooler at 34–38°F to hit peak bloom exactly on the 14th.
The "Green-Up" Assembly Line
To keep our designers sane, we pre-green our vases days in advance. This means filling hundreds of containers with eucalyptus and ruscus so that when the roses are hydrated, we can focus entirely on the artistry of the arrangement.
Logistics Tetris
On the big day, we aren't just florists; we're air traffic controllers. We use routing software to cluster hundreds of deliveries geographically. It takes a village—we bring in extra drivers (often brave family members!) to ensure every "First Crush" bouquet arrives in its narrow delivery window.
It’s a literal warehouse of love right now, and while the floors are covered in leaves, our hearts are full.
Pro-tip for the "Forgetful Romantics": If you haven’t secured your spot yet, order by February 10th to guarantee your preferred window. After that, we switch to a limited menu to ensure every bouquet gets the love it deserves!
Warmly,
